1. Who we are
BankShaala is a brand of BFSIJob Education LLP, which operates this website and the BankShaala learning portal. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" refer to BFSIJob Education LLP.
This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use our website or enrol in a course, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.
2. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information.
- Information you give us directly: your name, email address, phone number and any message you send through an enquiry form or at the time of enrolment.
- Account information: the login credentials you create for the learning portal, and your course enrolment and progress records.
- Payment information: when you pay for a course, the payment is processed by a third party payment gateway. We receive confirmation of the transaction and a reference number. We do not collect or store your full card number, UPI PIN, or net banking credentials.
- Usage information: pages visited, time spent, approximate location derived from your IP address, browser and device type. This is collected through analytics tools and is used in aggregate.
- Learning activity: lessons completed, quiz attempts and scores, and certificates issued.
3. Why we use your information
We use your information only for the purposes set out below.
- To respond to an enquiry you have sent us.
- To create and operate your account, deliver the course you have enrolled in, record your progress, and issue your certificate.
- To process your payment and provide a receipt.
- To send you service communications relating to your account or your course.
- To send you marketing communications about our courses, where you have agreed to receive them. You can withdraw that agreement at any time.
- To understand how the website is used so we can improve it.
- To meet our legal, accounting and regulatory obligations.
4. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used. Analytics cookies help us see which pages are useful and where people get stuck.
Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the learning portal from working correctly.
5. Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information to anyone, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
We share information only with service providers who help us run the platform, and only to the extent they need it to do that job. These include our hosting provider, our database and authentication provider, our video delivery provider, our payment gateway, and our email and analytics providers. Each is required to protect your information and use it only on our instructions.
We may also disclose information where we are required to do so by law, by a court, or by a regulatory authority, or where it is necessary to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your account and learning records for as long as your account is active, and afterwards for as long as we need them to meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations, or to resolve a dispute.
Certificate records are retained so that a certificate can be verified in future. Enquiry messages that do not lead to an enrolment are retained for a reasonable period and then deleted.
7. How we protect your information
We use technical and organisational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we hold. These include encryption of data in transit, access controls so that staff can only see what their role requires, and secure handling of credentials.
No system is completely secure. If a breach occurs that is likely to affect you, we will inform you and the relevant authority as required by law.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the following rights in relation to your personal information.
- To ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- To ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- To ask us to delete your personal information, where we are not required to keep it.
- To withdraw your consent to marketing communications at any time.
- To raise a grievance about how your information has been handled.
9. Children
Our courses and the learning portal are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will tell you directly.
11. Contact and grievances
If you have a question about this policy, want to exercise any of the rights above, or wish to raise a grievance about how your personal information has been handled, please contact us through the contact page on this website. We will acknowledge your request and respond within the period required by applicable law.
This policy describes our current practices. It is provided for transparency and is not legal advice.
